In Memoriam Mr. Rusty

Hi Everyone,

After a two year hiatus in composing, this year I have resumed composition following a traumatic and disturbing series of events.  The piano miniature about this experience – In Memoriam Mr. Rusty – has been recorded by Felix Buchmann.  Many thanks for the sensitive and compelling recording, Felix!

Also complete for this year are:

Love, Rebirth and Cosmic Acceptance [16 pp.]

dedicated to Fluttershy Felicity Oakley –

The Isle of Peace [16 pp.]

dedicated to Stefan Abels –

A Buried Dream of the Heart [15 pp.]

dedicated to  Lloyd Arriola –

In common with In Memoriam Mr. Rusty, these three piano solo compositions are notated without indications of tempi, dynamics, pedaling or phrasing, and leave such interpretive decisions to the judgement of the performer.  These three compositions are interconnected, with The Isle of Peace and A Buried Dream of the Heart based on material first expressed in Love, Rebirth and Cosmic Acceptance.

Some special editions have been engraved.  These are arrangements for piano solo of works by J.S. Bach, Felix Mendelssohn, Edvard Grieg and Franz Schubert.

Three of these may be heard here

J.S. Bach, Invention in B-flat Major, BWV 785

J.S. Bach, Prelude in E-flat Major, BWV 852

and here

Edvard Grieg, Albumblad, Op. 12 No. 1

Included is Felix Mendelssohn’s Lieder ohne Worte Op. 53 No. 4 and Franz Schubert’s Impromptu Op. 90 No. 3.
